Overview
Every year, around 1000 individuals in the United States are killed by police. Too often, their stories go untold.
Mapping Police Violence is an advocacy organization which tracks local news stories to create the most comprehensive database of police violence in the United States.
What we did
Moksha Data Studio collaborated with Mapping Police Violence to visualize this data in an interactive force diagram.
Users are able to filter by police department or state, learn details about each incident, and visit news stories to dive deeper.
The output
The final visualization is accessible on its own URL and is embedded on the Mapping Police Violence homepage.
