Every year, the City of Houston spends over $5 billion on funding for services like trash pickup, the police force, and Houston libraries.
But the budget is confusing. The ACLU of Texas and Data to Dream wanted to fix this, explaining what’s in the budget, and how to advocate for budget changes.
What we did
Moksha Data Studio helped these partners create an engaging microsite containing information about the budget, ways for visitors to express their own preference, and mechanisms to get further involved.
Visitors to the microsite can express which departments they think deserve the greatest attention, see how their preferences relate to the current state of affairs, and communicate their thoughts to their City Council member.
